Information for inverter manufacturers on the transfer of HMKE inverter data

Under the current regulations, inverter manufacturers must establish a data connection with FEAK Zrt.’s HMKE inverter data collection system – within a free-of-charge cooperation agreement.

Legal background

Why is the data transfer mandatory?

Act LXXXVI of 2007 on Electricity (hereinafter: VET) stipulates, as of 1 January 2025, the collection and management of the non-accountability data of Household-sized Small Power Plants (HMKE), as well as the cooperation obligation of active users (inverter owners).
Based on the requirements of the VET and Government Decree 369/2023 (VIII. 7.) on the designation of FEAK Zrt. (hereinafter: FEAK Decree), the organisation designated to carry out data collection is FEAK Zrt. (Independent Energy Data Centre Private Limited Company).
Therefore, under the current regulations, inverter manufacturers must transfer to FEAK Zrt.’s HMKE inverter data collection system the data of the inverters put into operation in Hungary.

The data connection is a prerequisite

The establishment of the data connection is a prerequisite for the Hungarian distribution system operators (DSOs) to approve the given inverter type.

Free-of-charge agreement

In order to implement the data transfer, inverter manufacturers must conclude a cooperation agreement with FEAK Zrt. which does not stipulate any financial obligations.
Data scope

What data does the system collect?

Annex 22 of the VET defines the scope of data to be collected from HMKE inverters, including:
  • the production output
  • the amount of energy used for own purposes
  • voltage and current per phase
  • the inverter power factors
  • the inverter identification data
How it works

The cooperation and data transfer in 6 steps

1

Contact FEAK Zrt.

2

Get to know the technological and IT solution for data transfer

3

Conclude a cooperation agreement

4

Establish the Sandbox data connection between the manufacturer’s data communication system and the HMKE inverter data collection system.

This may start before the cooperation agreement is concluded.

5

Test the data transfer and complete the Test Form phase in the Sandbox environment

6

Complete the PROD connection process and start live data provision
